Sister School

We are fortunate to be connected with a sister school, JoAnn Leleck ES (formerly known as Broad Acres) where our school communities support and learn from each other. Some ways this occurs include:
  • Used Book Sale:
We collect gently loved children's books to support our sister school's book sale. Foreign language books very welcome! No travel guides or textbooks. All books sold will aid help their families, build home libraries and raise funds for their PTA.
Date: Mid Oct to early November

  • Trunk or Treat: Every year, JoAnn Leleck hosts a fun, family-friendly Halloween event in their school parking lot. Volunteers from BT attend this event dressed in costumes and with decorated vehicles/trunks, distributing healthy treats, candy or fun giveaways (pencils, stickers, etc.)
    Date: October 31, 2019

  • Winter Clothing Drive: We collect gently loved coats, boots, snow pants, hats, gloves, etc to donate to families. All winter clothing is distributing to families at no cost to them.
Dates: a couple weeks prior Thanksgiving

  • Box Tops: We collect Box Tops to send to our sister school to obtain needed school supplies.
    Dates: ongoing throughout the year

  • Community Garden: JoAnn Leleck ES has a garden that the community replants each year to teach the kids about gardening, healthy eating, etc.

  • Broken Crayons: New this past school year, SGA officers and Mrs. Whalen spearhead this project. All crayons are donated to The Crayon Initiative, an organization that melts the crayons down and then uses the wax to make new, clean crayons that are donated to children’s hospitals.
    Dates: ongoing throughout the year
